Roberts Blows It!
Can you believe Chief Justice Roberts got the oath of office wrong, and almost made Obama look bad because Obama was trying to say it correctly? You could see Obama making the split second decision to go with Roberts' incorrect phrasing because the justice was obviously flailing. A very generous moment by Obama, when in a nanosecond he had to be thinking, 'I can't believe this guy is muffing it, but I forgive him and let's go on." So much for brilliance (in Roberts) being a reflection of any ability to perform simple tasks under pressure! Would be fun to know what Obama and Michelle have to say about that moment when they debrief the day privately tonight....

Agree 100%. I memorized the oath as a kid and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Roberts totally blew it.
I'm willing to cut him some slack. It was the biggest stage he had ever been on and was obviously nervous and out of his element. In the scheme of things it's not even a little deal--although I'm sure there are some fringe groups who will say, "He's not really president because he didn't correctly state the oath..."
Roberts wasn't the only one who got it wrong. Drudge reported Obama flubbed the oath because of nerves. And Chris Wallace stated that Obama might not be president because of the mangled oath.
Way to look stupid, guys.

What a sight---almost reminded me an SNL moment without the heavy make-up. Let's give O a big STAR for the "abundance of caution" moment and re-do soon after, just for the crackers out there who might called the inaugural deal questionable.
Gotta love America. At least we're not dull!
